Mac OS X 10.5.x Bug in selecting Workgroup for SMB/WINS

This hint allowed me to fix an issue where I couldn’t browse local computers in my workgroup. I’d go to system preferences, network, wins, and set my workgroup to try and fix this, but it wouldn’t stick. Here’s a really stupid, but “works for me” solution.
