We returned on Monday night from a weekend in Park City, UT where we visited with Libby’s parents and brother Ethan at their second home. The time over the weekend was divided between shopping for furniture, supplies, and relaxing on the mountainside.
This week has been pretty busy between picking up the three dogs we’d sprinkled amoung Raleigh for babysitting over the weekend, catching up on house chores, and catching up at work. John came to visit us, well he really came to present at a conference, but we greatly enjoyed seeing him and catching up.
Phoebe was adopted this week, and our other two are at the vet for their heartworm treatments until tomorrow morning. As a result, only Lily and Marshall are keeping us company at home tonight. We’re looking forward to a lovely weekend enjoying the nice weather.
Work’s going quite well, we’re close to reaching another customer milestone. We’ve hired two new people and are still looking for more. We’re hiring another PHP/MySQL developer with a background in object-oriented programming to help serve our software maintenance needs that are currently on the current two developers.
Had a pretty good week at work. We squashed most of the remaining bugs from the rollout almost two weeks ago. Looking at better procedures for preventing the buggy rollout in the future and planning for tuning the software to better meet our customers’ needs. Specifically hiding some features for the general user and putting some development time into helping the user better understand the product.
Libby just returned from the annual DRNA meeting which was in Gettysburg, PA. I spent the weeking caring for 3 dachshunds, one foster and two weekend visitors.
In the past few weeks, we released a new version of our product at work. Unfortunately things didn’t go nearly as smooth as planned and the software had more bugs than an ant farm. We’ve worked through a good chunk of the bugs, but we’ve got lots of little things to tweak throughout to bring the software up to a level of similar usability to our current verison.
Last week we spread mulch and planted trees in our back yard (pictures to come).
Two weekends ago my parents came to visit and we had a wonderful time visiting and picking out new trees for our yard!
Mid March, the grandparents Keenan came to visit and we spent a wonderful weekend playing bridge.
